Your gut health starts from your mouth and your mouth is the entrance of your gut. Your mouth contains over 700 different microbes. Some of these microbes make their way to your stomach and gut every time you swallow. The oral microbiome contains dense communities of microbes called biofilms.
oral-health According to some research, the bacteria that make up the majority of the microbes in the biofilms are also associated with chronic illnesses. When these bacteria in your mouth reach your gut, they can cause an imbalance of the microbiome in your gut and this can lead to small intestine bacterial overgrowth, a condition called SIBO, this can create weakening of the tight junctions between the endothelial cells in your intestine lining, which is called a ‘leaky gut’, this allows pathogens to enter your bloodstream and the rest of your body. Once this occurs, your immune system becomes activated to fight foreign invaders, but a hyperactive immune system can dramatically increase inflammation in the body. Therefore, you should take care of your oral health because it is the entrance to your gut where over 70% of immune cells are located.
Here are some new approaches to your gut health.

Many of us are aware of the danger of fluoride. When ingested, fluoride passes both the blood-brain barrier, which is designed to protect the brain and nervous system from the damage of foreign invaders, it also can pass through the placenta of a mother and reach a fetus. This is part of the reason why some babies suffer from weak immunity and gut health challenges at a very young age because the toxins and toxic heavy metals were passed down to them from the mother during the fetus stage. Did you know that fluoride can bio-accumulate in the body? fluoride toothpasteWhich means not all of it is metabolized and/or excreted by the body. About 50 percent of the fluoride you ingest through water or other food sources is excreted by the urine, while the other half tends to accumulate in the calcified areas of the body, such as bones and teeth, and your pineal gland, which is the temple of the wisdom and an important organ for your sleep cycles and anti-aging properties. The average American consumes about 14 pounds of toothpaste over a lifetime – imagine the impact of harmful chemicals from conventional toothpaste on your health. If you have been using fluoride-free toothpaste, you may be not aware of artificial flavors, colors, and toxic preservatives in your toothpaste. Bentonite clay is a soft clay composed of aged volcanic ash. It has been used since ancient times to protect the body from disease and injury. The impressive power of bentonite clay comes from its negatively charged molecules. Those molecules attract positively charged toxins and heavy metals. Bentonite clay can bind with toxins and push them out of the body. Bentonite-clay Your teeth are composed of hard dentin and enamel and both are sustained by minerals. Unfortunately, due to our unhealthy modern lifestyle and environmental toxins, we are losing minerals from our teeth. When your teeth lose minerals faster than they gain minerals, you start to notice unpleasant symptoms like sensitivity and decay. Brushing with bentonite clay accelerates remineralization because natural clays are rich in minerals such as silica, calcium, zinc, potassium, and magnesium. This helps strengthen your teeth, reduce and prevent sensitivity, and protect gums from decay and infections. Bentonite clay gently scrubs and polishes the teeth. It works like an astringent by removing tartar and cleaning the gums. As soon as bentonite clay comes in contact with the bacteria and toxins in your mouth, it absorbs them and replaces them with minerals. According to the International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, brushing with bentonite clay three times per day can even relieve oral infections by removing dangerous bacteria and supporting the teeth and gums with restorative minerals. Peppermint oil reduces bad breath and may help whiten teeth too. You can also add a few drops of clove oil and myrrh oil to enhance its potency.
