Do you notice that our ear is like an inverted fetus? From the image below, you can see that the earlobe matches the head of a fetus; therefore, this part of the ear is closely linked to our face and head based on reflexology.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the energy of the kidneys opens to the ears, and the kidneys are the power center of our longevity. Have you ever noticed those people who have a very long lifespan usually have long and big ears? This is not a coincidence. One time I mentioned this information to a few health care professionals, they were very curious and went to check some seniors in the long term care facilities. A few days later, they told me that they were shocked by this fact – the ear spells the secret of longevity. Such a small ear contains hundreds of acupoints and reflection areas, isn’t it amazing? Actually, you can prevent illnesses and also cure diseases by stimulating certain areas on your ears.

Now let’s take a look at some important reflection areas on the ear from an ear reflexology chart below.

From this image, you can see that the top part of the ear helix and scapha reflect the knees and upper legs; the middle part reflects the shoulders and upper arms; and the lower part reflects the head including the mouth, teeth, and eyes. On the other hand, the fossa and concha of the ear reflect inner organs. Below is an image of the ear structure to help you better understand each part of the ear.

The amazing thing about the ear is that unusual changes in your ears can raise an alarm about a specific part of your body, here are a few examples.

Sore throat:

If the bottom of your earlobe is red and swelling, it is an indication that you may suffer from a sore throat.

Gall bladder issues:

Gall bladder

If there is a lump in the edge of your earlobe, you may have gallbladder issues such as gallstones or Cholecystitis.

Teeth issues:
Teeth issues
If there is an oblique lump in your earlobe that is in 50 degrees with the horizontal line, it is an indication that you may suffer from gum issues or bleeding teeth.

Believe it or not, you will have a good idea about your health by checking your ears regularly. The more you practice, the better you will get to know your body.
Now I will introduce a few exercise tips that will stimulate those important acupoints in your ears and improve your overall health.

Exercise One:

Exercise one
Pull the top edge of the ear with your opposite hand. How to do it? Use your thumb, index finger and middle finger to pinch the edge of your ear and pull it up, repeat this exercise for 3-5 minutes for each ear.

 Exercise Two:

Exercise two
Use your thumb and index finger to hold the middle part of your ear, Turn your ear clockwise for 10 times and then counter clockwise for another 10 times.

Exercise Three: 

Exercise three
Massage the whole ear with your hand in a comfortable pressure for 3-5 minutes until your ear is warming up.

Exercise Four:

Exercise four
Fold your ears with your hands and then release, repeat 10 times.

Exercise Five:

Exercise five
Press your ear with your palm for 2 seconds and then release, repeat this exercise 10 times.

You can also use clothes clips to clip around your ears, just a few minutes each time. You can repeat this exercise a few times daily. Below is an image to show you the different reflection areas that you can stimulate with clips on the ear.

These are simple tricks that will improve your health in a magical way without hard work. Persistence is the key, just spend a few minutes clipping your ears and doing these ear exercises each day, you will see the amazing result.
